    The paper deals with the periodic boundary value problem (1) \(x'' + g(t,x) = 0\), \(x(0) = x(2 \pi)\), \(x'(0) = x'(2 \pi)\), where \(g : [0,2 \pi] \times \mathbb{R} \to \mathbb{R}\) satisfies Carathéodory conditions. The author proves the existence of a solution to (1) provided the asymptotic behaviour of \(g\) is different for \(x\) going to \(+ \infty\), from what it is for \(x\) going to \(- \infty\) (jumping nonlinearity). More precisely, he supposes that there exist positive numbers \(a_ +\), \(a_ -\), \(b_ +\), \(b_ -\) and a function \(h \in L^ 2 (0,2 \pi)\) such that the following conditions hold for a.e. \(t \in [0,2 \pi]\): \(a_ +x - h(t) \leq g(t,x) \leq b_ +x + h(t)\) for all \(x \geq 0\), \(b_ - x-h(t) \leq g(t,x) \leq a_ - x+ h(t)\) for all \(x \leq 0\). He studies here the case where the points \((a_ +, a_ -)\) and \((b_ +, b_ -)\) lie on two successive curves of the Fučík spectrum and presents existence conditions which generalize the earlier Landesman-Lazer type conditions.
