Summary: We prove that Green's integral \({\mathcal G}\) for a ball \(B_R\subset \mathbb{R}^n\), associated to a matrix factorization \(P\) of the Laplace operator, defines a bounded linear selfadjoint operator in the Hilbert space of harmonic \(W^{s,2}\)-functions in \(B_R\) \((s\geq 0)\), with the spectrum belonging to the interval \([0,1]\) on the real axis. Using this fact, we obtain a formula for solutions of the equation \(Pu= f\) in \(B_R\) with \(W^{m,2}\)-datum, and a criterion for the existence of \(W^{s,2}\)-solutions for such a datum (\(m\geq 0\), \(0\leq s\leq m+1\)).
