The asymptotic stability of the solution of the delay integral equation of Volterra type \[ \begin{aligned} y(x) &= \psi(0)+\alpha \int_0^x (a_0+a_1(x-s)) v(s)ds+ (1-\alpha) \int_0^x (a_0+a_1 (x-s)) y(s- \tau)ds,\\ y(x) &= \psi(x), \qquad -\tau\leq x\leq 0 \qquad (\tau>0,\;0\leq \alpha\leq 1)\end{aligned} \tag{1} \] is investigated. The effect of the delay \(\tau\) on the asymptotic stability of the solution to (1) is discussed. Four tests for checking the stability are presented and illustrated by numerical examples. Stability regions for some values of the parameters \(\alpha\), \(a_0\), \(a_1\) and \(\tau\) are established.
