The paper deals with bounds for the sum \(B_h(\theta)=\sum_{i=1}^h \{(N+i)\theta\}\) of \(h\) consecutive fractional parts of a given irrational number \(\theta\), where \(N\) is a non--negative integer, and \(h\geq 2\) is a positive one. If \(\{\theta\}<1/2\) then \(\{\theta\}<B_2(\theta)<2-\{\theta\}\), whereas when \(\{\theta\}>1/2\) then \(1-\{\theta\}<B_2(\theta)<1+\{\theta\}\). In the case of general \(h\) the author solves the problem when \(\{\theta\}<2/h\). The results are too complicated to be presented here completely. In the exposition a geometric representation of fractional parts under the sum using a sequence of \(h-1\) letters \(s\) or \(l\) (\(s\) when the difference of consecutive point is \(\lfloor \theta\rfloor\), and \(l\) when the difference is \(\lfloor\theta\rfloor+1\)) is instrumental.
