The author considers several classical results of convergence and integrability of trigonometric series valid for monotone sequences of coefficients. These results are known to be valid for quasi-monotone sequences as well. It is proved that they are also true for a new class of sequences, which trivially contains the one of monotone sequences: this is the class of sequences of rest bounded variation: a sequence \((c_n)\) of positive numbers, tending to zero, is said to be of rest bounded variation if there exists a constant \(K\) such that for every integer \(m\), \[ \sum_{n=m}^\infty|c_n-c_{n+1}|\leq Kc_m. \] The striking point of the paper is the fact that this new class is not comparable to the one of quasi-monotone sequences.
