Using the homogeneous balance method the authors obtain the Bäcklund transformation and a linear partial differential equation. Starting from the linear partial differential equation, multisoliton and single soliton as well as other exact solutions of the \((2+1)\)-dimensional Broer-Kaup equation are given. By analyzing the single soliton solution the authors get some dromion solutions.
