The connection between isomonodromic and isospectral problems is considered in this paper in the light of recent studies related to the Seiberg-Witten solutions of \(N=2\) supersymmetric gauge theories. The author reformulates the Schlesinger equation to include a small parameter \(\varepsilon.\) The solutions to such isomonodromic problem are expected to behave as a slowly modulated finite-gap solution to an isospectral problem, when \(\varepsilon \rightarrow 0\). The modulation is caused by slow deformations of the spectral curve of the finite-gap solution. The author derives a modulation equation of this slow dynamics and shows as to construct a general solution to such equation.
