Controlled \(K\)-theory for groupoids, as a generalization of the quantitative \(K\)-theory [\textit{H. Oyono-Oyono} and \textit{G. Yu}, Ann. Inst. Fourier 65, No. 2, 605--674 (2015; Zbl 1329.19009)] on filtered \(C^*\)-algebras, is used to investigate the theory, parallel to the ordinary \(K\)-theory, for groupoid crossed product \(C^*\)-algebras, such as the Kasparov \(KK\)-theory, the Roe coarse geometry, and the Baum-Connes geometry, including the Baum-Connes conjecture with respect to the \(K\)-theory assembly maps for the \(K\)-theory groups for group crossed product \(C^*\)-algebras. Namely, the authors obtain the controlled \(KK\)-theory, the controlled coarse geometry, and the controlled Baum-Connes geometry, etc. Without details, only a few results are mentioned below. There is the application of the coarse Baum-Connes conjecture to the Novikov conjecture on the homotopy invariance. Also, the \(K\)-theory assembly maps are induced by the controlled \(K\)-theory assembly maps. It is shown that the controlled \(K\)-theory assembly maps are related to the Skandalis-Tu-Yu coarse groupoid geometry [\textit{G. Skandalis} et al., Topology 41, No. 4, 807--834 (2002; Zbl 1033.19003)]. What is more, it is proved that the controlled \(K\)-theory maximal coarse Baum-Connes conjecture holds for any coarse space with a fibered coarse embedding into a Hilbert space. Note that there are spaces such as expanders or some box spaces which cannot be embedded into any Hilbert space, but with a fibered coarse embedding into a Hilbert space.
