Let \((X,d,s,\preceq)\) be a generalized cone \(b\)-metric space in the sense of \textit{R. George} et al. [Mat. Vesn. 67, No. 4, 246--257 (2015; Zbl 1462.54060)] and let \(S\), \(T\) be self-mappings on \(X\) satisfying \(d(Sx,Sy)\succeq\lambda_1d(Tx,Ty)+ \lambda_2d(Sx,Tx)+\lambda_3d(Sy,Ty)\) for all \(x,y\in X\) and some \(\lambda_1,\lambda_2,\lambda_3\geq0\) with \(\lambda_1>s\), \(\lambda_2<1\), \(\lambda_3<1\). If \(T(X)\subseteq S(X)\) and one of \(S(X)\), \(T(X)\) is complete, the authors prove that \(S\) and \(T\) have a unique point of coincidence. The result is illustrated by an example.
