In this article authors give a technique to compute intersection numbers (modulo two) of cycles \(x \in Z_{m}(P)\) and \(y \in Z_{l}(P)\) with \(m + l = 3\), in a polyhedron \(P\). Two algorithms are presented to construct a cocycle \(J_x \in Z_{l}(P)\) from a given cycle \(x \in Z_{m}(P)\). The authors use this cocycle to find the intersection number \(I([x], [y])\) of two complementary cycles \(x\) and \(y\) as the value \(J_{x}(y)\). As an application of these algorithms it is shown that a basis of the cohomology group can be constructed from a given basis of the homology group of complementary dimension. Proofs of the correctness of these algorithms and their computational complexity are also given.
