A germ \((Z,z)\) of a complex space \(Z\) is said to have an isolated non-normal singularity (INNS for short) if \(U\smallsetminus\{z\}\) is normal for some neighbourhood \(U\) of \(z\). Note that \(Z\) needs not to be reduced at \(z\). Necessary and sufficient conditions for equisingularity and equinormalizability of families of isolated non-normal singularities are given. The article starts in the first sections with a survey of classical results for families of reduced curve singularities. Here the classical invariants (\(\delta\)-invariant and \(\mu\)-invariant, the Milnor number) play an important role. For \((Z, z) \) and INSS the \(\delta\)-invariant and the \(\mu\)-invariant \(\delta(Z,z)\) resp. \(\mu(Z,z)\) are generalized. The main general result is that a deformation \(f:(X,x) \to (\mathbb C,0)\) of an INNS \((X_0,x)\) admits a simultaneous normalization iff, for a good representative \(f: X\to T\), \(\delta(X_t)\) is constant for \(t\in T\) and if the Milnor fibre \(X_t, t\neq 0\), has no isolated points. This generalizes the results of Teissier for reduced curve singularities and the result of Brücker and Greuel for non-reduced isolated curve singularities. The problem of simultaneous weak normalization is studied. Especially it is proved that a family of reduced isolated non-normal singularities admits a simultaneous weak normalization if and only if the differences of \(\mu\)-invariant and \(\delta\)-invariant of the fibres are constant. For families of generically reduced curves the topological behaviour of the Milnor fibre is investigated and topological triviality of such families is characterized. At the end of the article some open problems and conjectures are stated.
