For super-Brownian motion in dimension \(d\geq 3\) started from an arbitrary finite measure, the authors obtain results on the spectrum of thick points and on most visited sites (conditionally on survival), improving previous results by \textit{M. T. Barlow}, \textit{S. N. Evans} and \textit{E. A. Perkins} [Can. J. Math. 43, No. 5, 897--938 (1991; Zbl 0765.60044)] and \textit{E. A. Perkins} and \textit{S. J. Taylor} [Ann. Inst. Henri Poincaré, Probab. Stat. 34, No. 1, 97--138 (1998; Zbl 0905.60031)]. The analysis provides insight into how exceptionally large mass is created in a small ball. Le Gall's Brownian snake is used for studying the genealogy of the underlying branching process.
