    Dans un espace localement convexe \(E\) une \(K\)-suite est une suite (convergeant vers 0) telle que toute suite partielle contienne, à son tour, une suite partielle qui soit sommable dans \(E\). On dit que \(E\) possède la propriété \((K_{\text{loc}})\) si toute suite dans \(E\) qui converge localement vers 0 est une \(K\)-suite. S'il en est ainsi, \(E\) est un espace de Banach-Mackey; cela signifie que toute partie faiblement bornée du dual de \(E\) est fortement bornée. D'autres résultats analogues sont étudiés; et de nombreuses conséquences en sont déduites.
