The existence of an immersion is studied of a nonlinear single-output analytic control system into a skew-symmetric bilinear system (without the drift term). Necessary and sufficient conditions are found that such an immersion exists, which refine further the well-known conditions of Fliess and Kupka. As a by-product a ''skew-symmetric'' realization theorem has been produced. The paper uses extensively the representation theory of topological groups and sheds new light on the applicability of the representation theory in control theory.
