Let R be an associative ring with 1, \({}_ RM\) a left R-module and \(B=End_ RM\). The author investigates the relationship between properties of B and properties of M using two natural dual Galois connections \(r_ B: L\to L_ r\) and \(l_ M: L_ r\to L\), where \(L_ r\) is the lattice of ideals of B, L is the lattice of submodules of M. The author establishes that the above maps determine a duality between some subsets of M and the right annihilators of B and deduces from this necessary and sufficient conditions on M in order that B should be Baer or Levitzki. The other results concern the correspondence theorems for left complements, which give as corollaries necessary and sufficient conditions on M in order for B to be a left Goldie or left CS ring.
