As a continuation of the previous paper [ibid. 60, 279-282 (1984; Zbl 0587.35088)], we study the \(L^ p\)-boundedness of pseudo-differential operators whose symbols have very restricted smoothness and satisfy product type estimates. Namely, we consider symbols P(x,\(\xi)\) on \({\mathbb{R}}^ n_ x\times {\mathbb{R}}^ n_{\xi}\) satisfying estimates like \[ | \partial^{\alpha}_{\xi} P(x,\xi)| \leq C_{\alpha}(1+| \xi_ 1|)^{-\alpha_ 1}...(1+| \xi_ n|)^{-\alpha_ n} \] for some range of \(\alpha \in {\mathbb{N}}^ n.\) In this paper we introduce a new notion called ''multiple modulus of growth and continuity'', which enables us to describe a sharp sufficient condition generalizing those obtained by \textit{G. Bourdaud} [Commun. Partial Differ. Equations 7, 1023-1033 (1982; Zbl 0499.35097)] and \textit{M. Nagase} [Sci. Rep. Osaka 32, No.1, 9-19 (1983; Zbl 0543.35104)]. Full proof is given [J. Math. Soc. Japan 38, 199-225 (1986; Zbl 0578.47041)]. Recently it is found out that the sufficient condition obtained in this paper also applies to the weighted \(L^ p\)-boundedness of pseudo-differential operators with product type estimates, with very little modification.
