The authors prove some new results concerning the approximation errors for the quadratic spline collocation (QSC) operator. They also consider the eigenvalues and the eigenvectors for a model of QSC eigenvalue problem. Five particular problems corresponding to partial differential equations and systems are analysed in order to underline the effectiveness of the solvers and of the preconditioners. However, the implemented algorithms seem to have a high degree of parallelism.
