For a locally compact group, a full understanding of its representation theory needs an understanding of the associated full and reduced group \(C^*\)-algebras. Motivated by the work of \textit{R. J. Archbold} [J. Lond. Math. Soc., II. Ser. 35, 524-542 (1987; Zbl 0613.46048)], the authors of this paper give a deepgoing discussion on the minimal primal and the Glimm ideal spaces of group \(C^*\)-algebras. Some interesting examples are given, the class of [SIN]-groups (which includes all discrete groups), motion groups, and groups of the form \(\mathbb{R}^n\rtimes \mathbb{R}\) are studied.
