A simply supported rectangular plate is analyzed under uniform and nonuniform temperature actions. The Reissner-Mindlin theory for moderately thick plates and a deflection-type perturbation technique are applied. Numerical examples relate results for perfect and imperfect moderately thick plates to the results for thin plates.
