Let \(M\) be a submanifold of an arbitrary Riemannian manifold, \(h\) the second fundamental form of \(M\) and \(\sigma\) a normal field such that for every \(p \in M\) the subspace \(\xi_p : = \{v \in T_p M \mid \forall w \in T_p M : h(v,w) = \langle v,w \rangle \cdot \sigma_p\}\) is not trivial. \((\xi_p)_{p \in M}\) is called the principal distribution and each of its integral manifolds a curvature surface corresponding to the principal normal field \(\sigma\). In an article to be published in ``Geometry and Topology of Submanifolds VIII'', World Scientific Publishing, the author derived conditions for the integrability of \((\xi_p)\) and studied the shape of curvature surfaces. In the present article he is concerned with their completeness. The general results become explicit when applied to real hypersurfaces of complex space forms. This article generalizes results for submanifolds of real space forms obtained by the reviewer [see J. Differ. Geom. 14, 7-20 (1979; Zbl 0429.53039)].
