The author uses several methods to prove that certain local and Koszul (co)homology modules over commutative rings are Artinian, Noetherian, or finite. Some of the results appear to be new, while others strengthen or reprove known theorems. Also, a version of the Fredholm index is presented and applied to the detection of chain conditions in modules.
