Let \(L\) be a completely distributive lattice with involution. The authors study \(L\)-fuzzy topological groups as defined in their article [ibid. 47, 247-252 (1992; Zbl 0760.54005)]. They show that every ordinary topological group admits a natural ``\(L\)-fuzzification'', from which it can be reconstructed, and they investigate \(N\)-compactness of \(L\)-fuzzy topological groups in the sense of \textit{Wang Guojun} [J. Math. Anal. Appl. 94, 1-23 (1983; Zbl 0512.54006)]. If \(L\) is a dense chain and if the group \(X\) has a normal subgroup \(H\) such that both \(H\) and \(X/H\) are \(N\)-compact, then \(X\) is \(N\)-compact.
