In an earlier paper, the authors proved that a planar quadratic system having an invariant parabola \(\Gamma\) has at most one limit cycle. The main purpose of this paper is to clarify the location of the limit cycle for the above-mentioned quadratic system. Necessary and sufficient conditions are given for the existence of the limit cycle on the convex side or the concave side of the parabola \(\Gamma\).
