Let \(p\) be a prime and \(k\) be an integer, and let \(\phi\) be a modular form in Kohnen's \(+\)-space of weight \(k+1/2\) for the full modular group having algebraic Fourier coefficients \(c(n).\) Let \(c(N)\) be non-zero for some \(N\) and let \(\chi\) denote the quadratic character for \({\mathbb Q}(\sqrt{ (-1)^kN})\). The author proves for \(2k\equiv 4,6,8,10\) or \(14\pmod{p-1}\) that the \(p\)-adic limit of \(c(p^rN)\) is \(c(0) {L_p(1-k,\chi)\over(1-p^{2k-1}) \zeta(1-2k)}\). (The condition linking \(2k\) and \(p-1\) implies that there is no \(p\)-ordinary Hecke eigenform of weight \(2k\).) This assertion is used in proving an identity involving \(p\)-adic special values of Rankin-Selberg convolutions of a family of theta-series against a cusp eigenform.
