Fuzzy integral equations were introduced by \textit{H. Y. Chen} [J. Math. Anal. Appl. 80, 19-30 (1981; Zbl 0506.45014)]. This article is a continuation of a recent paper by the author [Fuzzy Sets Syst. 108, No. 2, 193-200 (1999; Zbl 0947.45001)]. It discusses successive approximations of solutions to a fuzzy integral equation under Carathéodory-type hypotheses using methods for equations of retarded type. Another approximation of solutions to fuzzy integral equations can be found in the paper of \textit{M. Friedman, M. Ming} and \textit{A. Kandel} [Fundam. Inform. 37, No. 1-2, 89-99 (1999; Zbl 0934.45011)].
