This article discusses the nonlinear scalar field equation \(-\Delta u=f(u)-\mu u\) in \({\mathbb R}^N\), \(N\geq 1\) where \(u\in H^1({\mathbb R}^N)\) satisfies the constraint \(\|u\|_{L^2({\mathbb R}^N)}^2=m\). It is assumed that \(f\) is continuous and satisfies weak mass supercritical conditions. Using a variational approach the authors obtain the existence of ground states. If \(N\geq 2\), the existence of infinitely many radial solutions while for \(N\geq 4\) the existence and multiplicity of nonradial sign-changing solutions is established.
