In the article the authors introduce a generalized differential calculus in the ring of formal power series in one variable. It is used in order to define certain sequences of special polynomials as well as to derive equalities for certain infinite matrices. The matrices \(M(\mathscr{D})\) and \(\mathscr{D}\) are both the Polya-Vein matrix, and the matrix \(\mathscr{D}_q\) is the \(q\)-Vein matrix from reviewer's papers. Then, the authors generalize the \(q\)-addition to \(h\)-calculus and the \(q\)-Pascal matrix to the Pascal matrix for the \(h\)-calculus and to the \((p,q)\)-Pascal matrix. The authors use a different definition of Appell sequence, and, lo and behold, the same notation for Polya-Vein matrix and derivative. Finally comes the Catalan numbers and a long reference list.
