Consider the boundary value problem \[ \begin{gathered} \varepsilon{d^4y\over dx^4}+\mu p(x){d^3y\over dx^3}+ q(x){d^2y\over dx^2}= f(x,y),\quad a< x< b,\\ y^{}(a)= A_r,\quad y^{}(b)= B_r\quad\text{for }r= 0,1,\end{gathered}\tag{\(*\)} \] where \(\varepsilon\) and \(\mu\) are small positive parameters with \(\mu^2/\varepsilon\ll 1\). The functions \(p\), \(q\), \(f\) are assumed to be sufficiently smooth satisfying \(\min(p,q,f(y))\geq\delta> 0\). Finally, it is supposed that the reduced problem \[ q(x){d^2y\over dx^2}= f(x,y),\quad a< x< b, \] \[ y(b)= B_0,\quad y'(b)= B_1 \] has a solution. Using the method of asymptotic expansion \[ y= \sum^n_{j=0} \sum^l_{k> 0} (Y_{jk}+ u_{jk})\varepsilon^{j/2} (\mu/\varepsilon^{1/2})^k, \] the author proves that \((*)\) has a unique solution.
