The foliations under discussion are the left-invariant ones of a Lie group G by the cosets of a connected Lie subgroup. The conditions for the leaves to be totally geodesic or minimal with respect to some left- invariant Riemannian metric on G, or for the metric to be bundle-like, are studied. One of several examples given is of a foliation with minimal leaves which are not totally geodesic on a compact Riemannian manifold of non-negative Ricci curvature. This example shows the impossibility of generalizing to higher codimensions the result of Oshikiri that minimal codimension one foliations of such manifolds are totally geodesic.
