Understanding the theory of quadratic forms requires a better understanding of Witt groups [\textit{W. Scharlau}, Quadratic and Hermitian forms. Berlin etc.: Springer-Verlag (1985; Zbl 0584.10010)]. It is a difficult task in general to understand Witt groups of function fields of algebraic varieties, thus the need of focusing on Witt groups of the algebraic varieties themselves [\textit{M. Knebusch}, Queen's Pap. Pure Appl. Math. 46, 103--283 (1977; Zbl 0408.15019)]. Witt groups fit very well into the framework of Hermitian \(K\)-theory [Zbl 0483.18008]. The author of the paper under review considers Hermitian \(K\)-theory of schemes within the framework of the Hermitian \(K\)-theory of dg categories of \textit{M. Schlichting} [J. Pure Appl. Algebra 221, No. 7, 1729--1844 (2017; Zbl 1360.19008)]. Precisely the author constructs a transfer morphism and proves a version of the dévissage theorem [\textit{S. Gille}, Arch. Math. 88, No. 4, 333--343 (2007; Zbl 1175.19001)]. Furthermore, the author proves the \(C_2\) -equivariant \(A^1\) -invariance of Hermitian \(K\)-theory, which confirms the representability of Hermitian \(K\)-theory in the \(C_2\)-equivariant motivic homotopy category of \textit{J. Heller} et al. [J. Topol. 8, No. 4, 1202--1236 (2015; Zbl 1331.14027)].
