    Let \(\Omega \) be a open subset of \( \mathbb{R}^n, n \geq 2. \) The paper deals with the problem of proving the existence of a set minimizing any eigenvalue \(\lambda_k\) of the eigenvalue problem \[ \begin{cases} - \operatorname{div}\big(e^{| x|^2/2} \nabla u \big) = \lambda e^{| x|^2/2} u & \text{ in } \Omega,\\ u = 0 & \text{ on } \Omega,\end{cases} \] under the restriction \[ \int_\Omega e^{| x|^2/2}dx \leq c \] for any \(c > 0\). The main result is the existence of a minimizer in the class of quasi-open sets. A set \(\Omega\) is quasi-open if there exists a decreasing sequence of open set \( \omega_n\) such that \[ \lim_{n \to \infty } \mathrm{cap}(\omega_n) = 0\quad \text{and} \quad \Omega \cup \omega_n \text{ is open for all } n. \] It is still an open problem to prove that the optimal sets are open sets. Only in the case of the Laplacian the problem is solved for \(k=1,2\).
