The numerical solution of a nonlinear integral equation of Hammerstein type \[ y(t)=f(t)+\int_0^1 k(t,s)g(s,y(s))\,ds,\quad t\in [0,1]\tag{\(*\)} \] is considered. The standard collocation method and Daubechies wavelets are combined to obtain approximate solutions of (\(*\)). The rate of convergence of the approximate solution to the exact solution is discussed. Some numerical examples are given to illustrate the efficacy of the method.
