Enumeration of extreme points is an important part of the theory of imprecise probabilities as well as of coalition games. Restricting to finite universal sets, this paper looks for estimation of the number of extreme points of the core of possibility measures. Note that this core is a convex compact set of all probability measures dominated by a given possibility measure and the number of its extremal points can vary from 1 (corresponding to Dirac measures) to \(2^{n-1}\) (\(n\) is the cardinality of the underlying universal et). Based on the ordinal structure of the related possibility distribution, the author gives sharper bounds for this estimation, both for the lower and for the upper bound, thus in the later case improving the results of \textit{E. Miranda}, \textit{I. Couso} and \textit{P. Gil} [Int. J. Approx. Reasoning 33, No. 1, 95--115 (2003; Zbl 1029.68135)].
