The qualitative and geometrical aspects of a model describing the motion of a small satellite in a gravitational field of an axial symmetric planet are considered. The Hamiltonian consists of a main part depending on the position variables and a small second part depending on position and angular variables. The integrability and nonintegrability of the problem are discussed in the framework of KAM theory.
