The authors describe the computational form of the artificial boundary method for parabolic Volterra integro-differential equations unbounded two dimensional spatial domains given essentially by a semi-infinite strip and illustrate its numerical performance. It is shown that passing from one to two (or more) spatial dimension is not trivial. The authors give the reduction of the original problem to the bounded domain and state and prove the result dealing with \(L^2\) convergence of the numerical scheme. Two numerical examples are given to illustrate the effectiveness and accuracy of the method discussed.
