This book is based on the author's Ph.D. thesis [``Persistence of noncompact normally hyperbolic invariant manifolds in bounded geometry'', Preprint, \url{arXiv:1204.1310}], appeared in a rough sketch in [the author, C. R., Math., Acad. Sci. Paris 350, No. 11--12, 617--620 (2012; Zbl 1257.53054)]. The author proves the persistence of normally hyperbolic invariant manifolds (NHIM) where the NHIM and the ambient space \(Q\) could be noncompact manifolds, as long as the space \(Q\) has bounded geometry (for example, bounded curvature). The persistence of compact NHIMs were well known in the 1970s (see the classical book [\textit{M. W. Hirsch} et al., Invariant manifolds. York: Springer-Verlag (1977; Zbl 0355.58009)]). Recently there appeared a few results on the noncompact case, for example, the series of papers [\textit{P. W. Bates} et al., Mem. Am. Math. Soc. 645, 1--129 (1998; Zbl 1023.37013); AMS/IP Stud. Adv. Math. 20, 403--410 (2001; Zbl 1288.37028); Invent. Math. 174, No. 2, 355--433 (2008; Zbl 1157.37013)]. The main result of the present book is that, given a Riemannian manifold \(Q\) with bounded geometry, a \(C^{r}\) uniformly continuous and bounded vector field \(v\) on \(Q\), and a \(r\)-normally hyperbolic invariant submanifold \(M\subset Q\), then for any vector field \(\tilde{v}\) \(C^1\)-close to \(v\), there is a unique \(r\)-normally hyperbolic invariant submanifold \(\widetilde{M}\) of \(\tilde{v}\) being \(C^1\)-close to \(M\). Moreover, \(\widetilde{M}\) and \(M\) are \(C^l\)-close if \(\tilde{v}\) and \(v\) are \(C^l\)-close for each \(l\leq r-1\).
