The authors are concerned with the convergence of a modified secant method which is proposed to find a zero of derivatives of a function \(f\). Under the hypotheses that second order derivatives of \(f\) are Lipschitz continuous, an estimation of the radius of the convergence ball of the modified secant method is presented. More precisely, it is proved that the radius \(r\) of the convergence ball is \(2/(3K)\) at least, where \(K\) is the Lipschitz constant. In addition, an error analysis is given which matches with the convergence order of the modified secant method.
