The main goal of the paper is to find a wide class of date and potentials for which there exist \(T>0\) and \(\delta\in( 0,1) \) such that \(-1+\delta<\chi( x,t) <1-\delta\) for all \(x\in\Omega,\) \(t\geq T,\) where \(( \mathcal{V},\chi) \) is the unique global solution of a nonlinear parabolic system describing the evolution of the temperature and of an order parameter \(\chi\). The equation in \(\chi\) is characterized by a singular potential \(W,\) which forces \(\chi\) to belong to the interval \([ -1,1]\). If \(W\) is sufficiently coercive at the extrema and compatible with the other data, then the solution moves away from \(\pm1\) in \(L^{\infty}( \Omega)\)-norm. Moreover, every smooth and bounded trajectory uniformly converges to a stationary state. An estimate of the decay rate is found.
