The symmetric successive overrelaxation (SSOR) methods for solving the fuzzy linear systems, proposed by \textit{M. Friedman}, \textit{M. Ma} and \textit{A. Kandel} [Fuzzy Sets Syst. 96, No. 2, 201--209 (1998; Zbl 0929.15004); comment and reply ibid. 140, 559--561 (2003)] are presented. Necessary and sufficient conditions for convergence of the SSOR iterative schemes are obtained and numerical experiments are developed in order to solve effectively fuzzy linear systems.
