This paper deals with a mathematical model, called padestrian flow model, which serves as an example of a conservation law in which nonclassical solutions have a physical motivation. The main characteristics of the Riemann solver, associated to the class of flux functions, are described, and all the possible wave interactions are analysed. The existence of a weighted total variation that does not increase after any interaction is established. The results are supported by a numerical example at the end. The paper must be of interest to someone working on conservation laws and the Riemann problem.
