The authors consider the group \(G\) of all upper-triangular real infinite matrices with units on the main diagonal and only a finite number (depending on a matrix) of non-diagonal non-zero elements. They define a measurable space \(X\) consisting of some matrices of the same type (without the finiteness condition) with an infinite tensor product \(\mu\) of Gaussian measures, on which \(G\) acts in such a way that \(\mu\) is quasi-invariant. This action determines a unitary representation of \(G\). The main result consists of necessary and sufficient irreducibility conditions of this representation. The conditions include the \(G\)-ergodicity of \(\mu\) and its singularity with respect to transformations by some classes of elements. The technique is based on a subtle analysis of the properties of infinite tensor products of Gaussian measures. Recently the authors also considered the case of general non-Gaussian measures [see \textit{S. Albeverio} and \textit{A. Kosyak}, Algebraic and topological dynamics. Proc. conference, Bonn, Germany, May 1--July 31, 2004. Providence, RI: Am. Math. Soc. (AMS). Contemp. Math. 385, 259--280 (2005; Zbl 1087.22013)].
