In the first part of the paper the relations between several kinds of generalized invexity are studied for locally Lipschitz continuous functions. The kinds of generalized invexity which are considered comprise (quasi, strict quasi) preinvexity, quasi invexity, (strict) pseudo invexity, and new concepts of invexity called weak invexity and weak quasi invexity. Then, in the second part of the paper, relations between such properties of generalized invexity for a nonsmooth function and certain kinds of invariant monotonicity of its limiting subdifferential mapping are established. In particular these are the quasi invariant monotonicity and the (strict) pseudo invariant monotonicity of the latter mapping.
