The authors point out that general problems of inhomogeneous anisotropic media containing conductive bodies have not in general been solved and give a summary of a number of problems involving the flow of current in anisotropic media. They formulate the problem of a point current source located in a half plane where the normal component of current density is zero on its boundary. A Fredholm integral equation of the first kind is formulated for a variable which represents the potentials for different point source locations. Appropriate Green's functions are obtained and it is shown that a five image source system is needed. The method is illustrated by using two different sets of resistivity tensors and a variety of positions of the point source and types of anisotropy, the results being illustrated in a number of diagrams. The numerical solution of the integral equation is stated to have been carried out by the method of subsections. The detailed numerical analysis is not given however.
