It is known that a Levi non-degenerate real-analytic non-spherical hypersurface \(M\) in \(\mathbb{C}^n\), \(n\geq 2\), have no essential symmetries. The authors [J. Reine Angew. Math. 584, 215--236 (2005; Zbl 1076.32032), Ark. Mat. 45, No. 2, 253--268 (2007; Zbl 1148.32017)] have shown a counterexample to this principle in the class of so-called torsion-free elliptic CR manifolds of codimension \(2\) in \(\mathbb{C}^4\). In this article, the more special family \[ y''=y^k(y-xy')^3 \quad (k\in \mathbb{C}) \] is considered, featuring an additional symmetry. It is shown that the solutions of these ODE's yield a class of hypergeometric functions with a non-linear symmetry. For the entire collection see [Zbl 1459.00016].
