Let \((M^{n},\omega,J)\) be a compact Kähler manifold. Considering \(\phi \in C^{\infty} (M)\), define the metric \(\omega_\phi:=\omega+\sqrt{-1}\partial\bar{\partial}\phi >0\), denote its scalar curvature by \(s_\phi\). A one-parameter family of Kähler potentials \(\phi_t\) is a solution of the \textit{Calabi flow} \(\frac{\partial \phi}{\partial t}=s_\phi-\bar{s}\), where \(\bar{s}=\frac{1}{Vol(M)}\int_M s_\phi \omega_\phi ^n\). Using the language of `minimizing movements' used by \textit{E. De Giorgi} [Res. Notes Appl. Math. 29, 81--98 (1993; Zbl 0851.35052)], the author proves the long time existence of a certain kind of weak solution to the Calabi flow. More exactly, he establishes the long time existence of minimizing movements for \(K\)-energy with arbitrary initial condition. Also, he finds some regularity results for these solutions, and that sufficiently regular minimizing movements are smooth solutions to Calabi flow.
