In the past of decades the existence and multiplicity of nontrivial solutions for Schrödinger-Poisson systems has been in attention of many scientists due to its importance in quantum mechanics. In this paper, the authors analyze a general class of nonlinear Schrödinger-Poisson systems with indefinite steep potential which include already previously studied Schrödinger-Poisson systems. By introducing some new hypotheses on the potentials and applying the method of penalized functions, the authors obtain the existence of non trivial solutions when the unique positive parameter present in the coefficient of the unknown function \(u\) is sufficiently large.
