Let \(S\) be a discrete Abelian semigroup with cancellation property, \(\widehat S\) is the semigroup of all semicharacters of \(S\), and \(X\) is the group of all characters of \(S\). If \(\psi\in\widehat S\), then \(\psi=\rho\chi\) for some \(\rho\in\widehat S\), \(\rho\geq 0\), and \(\chi\in X\). The authors consider a version of generalized analytic functions \(F\) on \(\widehat S\setminus X\) that are complex valued, the mapping \(z\mapsto F(\rho^z\psi)\) is analytic in the open right half-plane for all \(\rho,\chi\in\widehat S\setminus X, \;\rho\geq 0\), and are continuous at \(0^+\). The algebra of these functions was considered previously by Grigoryan and the reviewer in [\textit{R. Mirotin} and \textit{S. Grigoryan}, Shift-invariant uniform algebras on groups. Monografie Matematyczne. Instytut Matematyczny PAN (New Series) 68. Basel: Birkhäuser (2006; Zbl 1110.46001)], and is slightly more general than the algebra of generalized analytic functions introduced by Arens and Singer in the 1950s. The authors study interpolation sets, polynomial approximation, and prove a version of the mean value theorem for algebras of these generalized analytic functions.
