The present paper is concerned with the existence of nontrivial solutions to the second order discrete boundary value problems of the form \[ \begin{aligned} &-\Delta^2 X_{k-1} =f_k(X_k),\\ & X_0=\alpha X_1,\; X_{T+1} =\beta X_T, \end{aligned} \] where \(\alpha <1, \beta\leq 1\), \(X_k=(X_{k1},\cdots,X_{km})^T \in R^m,\, f_k=(f_{k1},\cdots,f_{km})^T \in C(R^m,R^m)\), \(\Delta \) is the forward difference operator defined \(\Delta X_k =X_{k+1}-X_k\), \(\Delta^2 X_k =\Delta(\Delta X_k)\). The approach is to use critical point theory. An example is provided.
