Let \(T^{2}\) be the torus that is the Cartesian product of two unit circles in the complex plane \(\mathbb C\). Let \(L^{2}(T^{2})\) be the usual Lebesgue space in the torus \(T^{2}\). In the paper under review, among other things, the author proves that a nontrivial two-sided invariant subspace of \(L^{2}(T^{2})\) is two-sided pure and two-sided full.
