This paper deals with the commutativity of groups derived from several properties of their normal subgroup lattices. Its main results state that a group \(G\) is Abelian if and only if it is nilpotent and \(N(G)\cong L(A)\) for some Abelian group \(A\), or there is a non-torsion Abelian group \(B\) such that \(N(B\times G)\) is isomorphic to the subgroup lattice of an Abelian group. As a consequence, it is shown that, for an Abelian group \(A\), the lattice isomorphism \(N(\mathbb{Z}\times A)\cong N(\mathbb{Z}\times G)\) implies the group isomorphism \(A\cong G\).
